THE INCEPTION
Jigisha is the annual quiz festival of the University of Engineering and Management Kolkata. From a humble beginning in 2017, it has grown exponentially to become a highly anticipated event on the quizzing calendar.
We started with a vision to create a platform where curious minds could clash, collaborate, and celebrate knowledge. Today, Jigisha welcomes thousands of participants from schools and colleges across the state, featuring diverse formats ranging from general knowledge to highly specialized themes like pop culture, sports, and technology.

Pragya is home to some of Kolkata's most Elite Quizzers and Quiz-Masters who have conquered national level quizzes. We are a family of individuals bound by our insatiable thirst for trivia.
Hosting Jigisha is our way of giving back to the quizzing circuit. We meticulously curate every question, every round, and every format to ensure that the participants experience the sheer joy of cracking a beautifully crafted fundamental.

The Beginning
Pragya Quiz Club was formed at UEM Kolkata. The first-ever Jigisha quiz event was held with a handful of participants.
What started in a small classroom with just a few enthusiastic quizzers eventually planted the seed for what would become Kolkata's premier quizzing festival.

Growing Roots
Jigisha 2.0 expanded to include multiple quiz formats. The event attracted participation from colleges across West Bengal.

Going Big
With a massive 3,000+ footfall, Jigisha 3.0 put UEM Kolkata on the national quizzing map. Multiple quiz-masters from the city were invited.

After a pandemic-induced hiatus, Jigisha 4.0 returned stronger than ever with a record prize pool and participation from 50+ institutions.
